I just voted. The line was long. Over 2 hours. It's sweaty in some places and chilly in others, but everyone came out to vote. Amazing. The school was having a bake sale and kids ran by me screaming "Pound cake! Vote! Coffee!" People brought their babies to experience the day. Even the pollsters who had been there all day, and would be there all evening, were excited. I know who I voted for, but the most moving thing was seeing so many people there. Democracy at work, and all that. I admit it, even knowing the line wrapped around itself around two blocks, I took a minute to stand in booth and take it in.

I've been voting since I was eighteen, but this is the first time I've had to wait. I'm glad I didn't do absentee. I'm glad I experienced the day.

These fish are amazing. First, you can't tell, but they are literally bigger than me, and I am pretty much normal human sized. Second, this is a restaurant patio. They just sit there, waiting for you to drop something. It makes me think of pigeons!

8:17pm - I've been working long hours lately. Isn't there a recession on? I'm glad to be working, believe me, but it's Friday night, I did 12-14 hour days all week, and I know that if I was at home I'd just be bumming around online anyway, but boy do I wish I was on my couch instead of at this desk. It's probably like this in all industries, but I am definitely in a "hurry up and wait" field. I don't know which is worse. 2hr 27min to go. Maybe I will watch some TV.

8:19pm - Update: OMG I have cable in my office!

9:09pm - Felt guilty about watching TV when everyone else is scrambling. Although I don't have cable at home so this is kind of my only time to watch VH1. T minuse 49 minutes.

One of my best friends is getting married. I know it makes me a freak, but I'm really excited to be a bridesmaid! To be able to stand up with someone I care about while she marries the man she loves; I consider it an honor.

The only problem: the shoes.

I never learned how to walk properly in heels. Instead of looking glamorous, I look like I'm desperately trying not to fall down, kind of like when you're walking on ice. I tried to get ones that aren't too high, but I'm still worried.

I don't want to take a tumble down the aisle!
